Kitchen Plans is a small team of
industry design professionals lead by
myself, Cameron Pyke. I oversee and
take personal responsibility for every
project that goes through this office.
I come from a family of architects,
artists, craftsmen and engineers. My
father entrusted me with lethally sharp
tools at an early age - and expected
results. Anybody in the family who
couldn't saw straight by the age of eight
was a cause for grave concern.
A long time ago, I used to be a teacher.
As a sideline I started to build furniture.
At first it was mainly dressers and
tables in solid oak and pine. I used

traditional construction methods such
as mortice and dovetail joints. Very
often the pieces were decorated with
handcarved details.
Then someone asked me to design a
kitchen. That's when I found what I
really liked doing. Over the past ten
years I have designed hundreds of
kitchens. Some of the kitchens were
built and installed by other people,
some by myself. I have worked in
many styles and with many materials.
So why KITCHEN PLANS?
Most of my previous customers fell
into two groups. They called me in and
were so happy with the service that
they never bothered to ask anyone
else to quote.
Or, they called other companies first.
The designers sent by the companies
just wore them out and demoralised
them. Then I came along and got it
right - mainly because I listen. Yes, the
customer is always right.
After many years I've realised the best
way to help people get the kitchen
they've always promised themselves
is to simply stick to design - do what I
do best. Once you have a good design
there's no shortage of excellent
products, craftsmen and tradesmen to
make the dream reality.
