We Recommend  Crown Wood Products This company offers a superb range of beautifully crafted wooden doors and drawerfronts and accessories.  Along with the usual cornice, light pelmet and plinth products they offer trim and detail components such as pilasters, matchboard panelling and pierced friezework. Crown offer a wide range of styles, timbers and finishes.  You can have anything from simple Shaker to traditional ‘T bar’ triple panel doors, raised and fielded with studs.  You can have oak, ash, cherry, pine, walnut.  Natural wood tones can be darkened or lightened by staining, bleaching or liming. If that wasn’t enough Crown will make just about anything as long as they are given drawings: eg. corbels, radiator cabinets, benches, tables.  It is very much a case of “the answer is yes, now what’s the question?” Crown Wood Products are a Trade Only supplier but you should be able to order through your Fitter. Cupboard Door Company This company offers some unmatched opportunities for creativity.  They manufacture a huge range of made to measure doors, drawerfronts and accessories, all in moisture resistant MDF. Moisture resistant MDF is an excellent material.  Apart from being far less vulnerable to water damage than conventional MDF it is rock hard and responds beautifully to CNC machining.  Once painted the doors look and feel like hand-made joinery. The Cupboard Door Company supply their products in raw MR MDF, primed or spray painted.  The painted products are stunning but expensive.  However, we recommend that you buy the doors primed and then paint them by hand.  This is very cost effective and gives you an individual kitchen with loads of character. The Cupboard Door Company are a Trade Only supplier but you should be able to order through your Fitter. Crystal Doors Lots of companies offer vinyl wrapped MDF doors and accessories.  The process is well established:- an MDF blank is CNC machined to the required size and shape; then a tough vinyl foil is glued to one or both sides.  Applied under conditions of intense pressure and heat, the foil adapts to the shape of the MDF substrate. Vinyl wrapped doors probably make up the majority of commercially available kitchen fascias.  Quality can vary between manufacturers.  Crystal Doors have, in our experience, an excellent track record providing first class product and reliable service.  They are also very well priced. Crystal have a wide range of designs and finishes (foils) including wood grains and high gloss.  One the great advantages of ordering from Crystal is fast turnaround, often within a fortnight.  Crystal Doors are a Trade Only supplier but you should be able to order through your Fitter. Component Suppliers: Chances are you’ll never have heard of some of these names and brands.  All of them are respected, trusted sources that independent kitchen professionals rely on for quality and service.  Most of them will not deal with the public but if you collaborate with your Fitter this should not be a barrier. Solid Surface Worktops Solid surface is a development of the laminate worktop.  A 3mm layer of acrylic is bonded the chipboard substrate instead of 1mm of melamine.  It is therefore much more robust and repairable.  Scratches can be sanded out, serious damage can be remedied by applying acrylic resin and re-sanding, re- polishing. Solid surface worktops are therefore a sound environmental choice. Lechner is a German firm who supply a range of excellent solid surface worktop products called Elements.  There is a good range of colours and fabrication options, including integrated sinks. Kitchens for Keeps are UK suppliers of Lechner products. Duropal and Origin Worktops Laminate worktops have been an industry standard for a very long time indeed.  True, they are vulnerable to water getting through the laminate into the chipboard substrate.  If you have a top quality product professionally fitted this risk is minimised and your laminate worktop can last many years. Duropal is a German brand of high pressure laminate worktop.  It is engineered with a drip stop feature in the underside of the front edge which counteracts moisture penetration.  Origin  worktops are manufactured to a similar quality. Both are well priced. Shaping, jointing and edging worktops is called fabrication and it is best done by a CNC machine in a factory - not by hand, although the Fitter will usually have to make final adjustments on site. We recommend Co Tops for laminated worktops. They stock Duropal and Origin worktops and offer a full fabrication service.  They are well priced and have a fast turnaround. Trade only. Henbury A taste for the rustic and possibly an old farmhouse could point to the Henbury range. This freestanding furniture range is handmade in solid oak complete with granite worktops on many pieces. Some items have cavities for  appliances such as ovens to be fitted and dining furniture is also available. This furniture is well priced and we know where to get excellent deals.   Kitchens for Keeps is a breath of fresh air in the kitchen industry: in environmental terms - almost literally. So many kitchens end up in the skip. Faddy new ideas fall out of favour and most furniture just isn’t built to last. The result is a vast tonnage of waste going to landfill every year.
